The Giant Sound of the South!
Pedicab, composed of Diego Mapa, Raimund Marasigan, Mike Dizon, Jason Caballa (“J.Sonic”), and RA Rivera (“Just Toni”), is no stranger to the music scene. This group of seasoned artists have been rocking the local scene since 2004 gracing us with such hits as “Dito Tayo Sa Dilim”, and “Dizzy Boy”.
The Oktaves, led by rock icon Ely Buendia, is the new supergroup that features legendary guitarist Nitoy Adrian, Chris Padilla, Ivan Garcia, and Bobby Padilla. Described as a super band, expect nothing, but straight-up rock and roll.
Taken by Cars offers a modern, dynamic sound that typically combines precise interplay from the rhythm section, carefully orchestrated guitar and synth lines, and Sarah Marco’s fairly androgynous but genuinely compelling vocals.
Don’t be fooled by the name. This all-girl rock band have proven that they can rock as well, if not better, than their peers, regardless of gender. At the rate Flying Ipis is, well, flying, this band is set to rise above the swarm, so to speak.
Diego Mapa, of Pedicab and Tarsius, and Diego Castillo, the founding guitarist of Sandwich, are the Djing duo/remixers known as “The Diegos”. On a typical night, a set by The Diegos includes a bit of everything that anyone can dance to – electronica, punk, post-punk, new wave, indie rock, hip-hop, funk, dub, and even some classic disco and Motown sounds thrown into the mix.
Cheats is an eight-piece indie-rock band from Manila, Philippines. A collective of couch potatoes, they’re strung together by a love for video games, melodrama and rock anthems.
Turbo Goth is a young and fresh electronic rock band circa 2008. Composed of Paolo Peralta (on guitars, drum beats, and electronic sampler) and Sarah Gaugler (on lead vocals); together, they are the only electronic rock duo in the country.
Paranoid City is not your ordinary indie synth rock band! From old school 80s to modern day hits to their original electronica beats, they will surely get the crowd on their feet and into the music.
Autotelic is a Filipino electropop band with elements of alternative pop, post-punk, progressive rock, and world music to the tracks. While the band built each song with their individual stylings, they still retained the essence of electronica at the core of their material.
Aly, Aki & Ponch all met in a college dorm when they were freshmen and have been playing with each other ever since. Their music is the kind that can hopefully cheer you up. They are not real elves.
DJ Mark Agustin is an up and coming DJ that has been selected to take part in Republiq’s Night Venture: Next Rising Star. He is currently being mentored by DJ Mars Miranda has played in various clubs such as The Black Market Club in Makati.
The Brat Pack is the 1st Asian band in history to have made it to the Finals in the 2014 30th International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, USA, competing at the famous Orpheum Theatre. The band is currently setting waves in the music industry, promoting its own style of Jazz Blues.
Perhaps the best way to describe Imelda’s music would be hard rock, and a whole lot more: straight-up blues, hints of metal, smatterings of 90’s grunge, and progressive rock. Aside from delivering this diverse sonic palette, the band also consistently puts up an electrifying stage-show each and every gig.
This wouldn’t be the “Biggest” drinking festival in Philippines if we didn’t have any drinking games. That’s why we dedicated a whole section for an array of popular and fun games such as beer pong and flip cup! And like all drinking games, everyone ends up a winner.
Drink Up Philippines will take place in the field on Federacion Dr. and 9th Avenue, Fort Bonifacio (beside The Forum).
